Central Market

Europe’s biggest market with more than 8000 sqm.

The Central Market is Europe’s biggest market: it is more than 8000m2 in size and one of the most bustling places in the city. It’s an absolute must in Valencia where you can do the shopping with all five senses and a masterpiece of Modernism.

Since the Islamic period, it has been a building dedicated to the market and, together with the Silk Exchange, it has been the commercial centre of the city for centuries. The Central Market was built at the beginning of the 20th century, and it is a significant spot where you can buy groceries and gourmet products or even have something to eat or drink. Central Bar, by Valencian chef Ricard Camarena, is an essential stop in the market.
